The short version
Task Focus does not collect, sell, rent, or share your personal information. Your task titles, selected apps, settings, and privacy-preserving usage counters are stored locally on your device. The developer does not operate a server that receives this information.
Information stored on your device
Tasks and focus state
The current task title, start time, completion state, and whether app protection is active are stored locally so Task Focus and its Live Activity can work. A task title may appear on your Lock Screen or Dynamic Island when you start a focus session.
App and website selections
If you use app protection, your Screen Time selection is saved locally as Apple-provided opaque tokens. Task Focus uses those tokens to pause your choices during a session. The developer cannot use them to identify or view your activity in other apps.
Settings and local measurements
Preferences such as onboarding completion, check-in settings, purchase entitlement, and selected support options are stored locally. Task Focus also keeps aggregate counters on your device, such as the number of focus sessions and remaining free protected sessions. These counters do not include task titles, selected apps, or event-level history and are not transmitted to the developer.
No cloud account or sync
Task Focus does not require an account and does not sync your task data to a developer-operated cloud service.
Permissions you can choose
Screen Time
Task Focus requests individual Family Controls authorization only if you choose apps or websites to pause. This access is used solely to apply and remove shields for your selected items. You can turn the feature off or revoke authorization in iOS Settings.
Notifications
If you enable gentle check-ins, Task Focus schedules local notifications on your device. The notification can include your current task title. You can disable check-ins in the app or notifications in iOS Settings.
Live Activities
Task Focus uses Apple’s ActivityKit to show your task and elapsed time on the Lock Screen and, on supported devices, the Dynamic Island. Live Activity content is handled by iOS and stays within the app’s local experience.
In-app purchases
Task Focus Pro is a non-consumable, one-time in-app purchase processed by Apple through StoreKit. Apple handles payment information and purchase records under its own privacy policy. Task Focus receives only the transaction information needed to confirm and restore your Pro entitlement; the developer does not receive your card or billing details.
This website
This website does not use cookies, advertising pixels, analytics scripts, account forms, or behavioral tracking. It is hosted on GitHub Pages. Like most hosting providers, GitHub may process technical request information such as IP addresses and browser details for security and operation under the GitHub General Privacy Statement.
Following a link to Apple, GitHub, or an email provider takes you to a service governed by that provider’s terms and privacy practices.
Retention and your control
App information remains on your device until it is replaced through normal use or you delete the app and its local data. You can end an active focus session at any time, turn off app protection and notifications, or delete Task Focus to remove its locally stored information.
Because the developer does not receive your app data, there is no developer-held task history or profile to access, export, or delete.
Children’s privacy
Task Focus does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children. The app’s Screen Time authorization is provided and controlled by Apple’s operating system.
Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated if Task Focus changes how it works or to clarify its practices. The effective date at the top of this page will be updated when material changes are published.
